lucy: baby or teenage boy?

okay, moms, how many of you out there breastfed your babies?  Raise 'em up 1, 2, 3.....50; okay, how many of you made it through the first year 1, 2, 3, 4....20; okay, so how many beyond that 1, 2, 3.  Three, now really, i don't know what the statistics say, but i would venture to guess that few moms make it past the one-year mark and my insight grows daily....

so as some of you know, i will be nursing my little until 2 (now, i have to admit, it makes me a little uneasy to think that lucy will be able to ask in complete sentences with anatomical correct words for what she wants by the age of 2, so there may be some mechanical assistance to accomplish my goal of providing breast milk until 2.

the extremely limited vaccination schedule i have imparted on my lucille drives my determination to feed my little breast milk until 2, no matter how i feel about it or how uncomfortable or inconvenient it is for me; that, to me, is the epitome of motherhood.  sacrifice for the wee ones.

but back to my point. around 7 months or so, lucy decided she could help herself to her food; i like to call it nose diving.  and as humorous as it seems, it quickly morphs to humiliation in public when she dives, grabs, stares, and calls for her food.  for some reason, she simply refuses to adhere to the mores of our society, geesh!  most people would probably just stop right here, but no, some of us are glutton for punishment (not really, maybe embarrassment).  but really, i am just amused at the parallels between babies and teenage boys....or, well, just forget the teenage part (that is just where it begins, i believe it ends in death).
